My name is Ofer and I am the father of a soldier fighting in Gaza.
My son came home for a rest and showed me some children's letters and pictures sent to him and his friends by Thanks Israeli Soldiers.
He wants to thank all of you for the care, for the support, for the love and for the light!
I looked at the pictures the children drew and was so touched. It's so real to get a letter from a six year old girl, who draws pretty flowers in red crayon and writes: "Please come back safely!"
The warmth and concern for one another, the oneness, this is what makes the soldiers of the Israel Defense Force strong. This is what we have passed on to our children, who are serving their country, somewhere in Gaza or in any other location.
I am a son of Holocaust survivors, second generation from that horrific era. My son was raised to love, to give and to be part of a strong army to defend the Jewish people. He has always given of himself and continues to give in this war for our nation, and now he is getting back from the citizens of Israel.
I could go on and on thanking you all for the strength and love you give our soldiers!
What a wonderful people we have !
